5 key tips you should know about led bulb

  As part of my plans to green my house and, in preparation for the departure of the age of the incandescent bulb, I’ve been researching the best way to replace the lights in my home with low-energy alternatives.
Here are a few tips to help you make sense of the many energy-efficient lighting solutions on the market today, and how to choose the best LED bulb for your lighting needs.

1. The new Lumens rating makes you easier to buy a LED bulbs

The lumens will replace the current “watts”. Lumens represents the amount of light emitted by a light source, and is a more accurate measure of the brightness of a bulb.

After you determine the lumen level you prefer, you can then look to other indicators such as energy efficiency, lifetime run cost, and dimmability to select the ideal bulb for your application.

2. LED bulbs contain no mercury and won’t contribute to heat buildup in your home

LED bulbs, by contrast, remain cool. High power LEDs are designed with heat sinks, usually aluminum struts around the lower bulb, which keeps operating temperatures low. LED bulbs do not contribute to heat buildup in a room.

3. Insects are not attracted to UV-free LED bulbs.

4. LEDs give instant light and most of LED bulbs are dimmable

Earlier LED bulbs can’t be dimmable. Nowadays, most of LED bulbs are designed to work in dimmable switches which are provided in many lamps and home lighting fixtures. Just be sure to check the package to select the bulb with dimmable.

5. How to Choose LED Bulbs

1.  Better color rendering index

CRI of ordinary LED bulbs ranges from 1 to 100. While lighting with CRI 100 will be the perfect because the light color will be as same as the daylight.

2. Longer service time

Warranty of many led bulb can be more than 2 years

3.    More suitable power

Compared with traditional lightings, LED bulbs can save electricity for 70%. That is, if traditional lightings consumed 5 kilowatt-hours a day, then a LED bulb with the same illumination will just consume 1.5 kilowatt-hours

4.     Choose a Higher lumen bulb

At last, there is no doubt the technology will get better and the price will be lower. So within a few years, we all are using LEDs to low the cost of lighting our homes to mere pennies.
